What I Accomplished

This week are progress has been great. I accomplished a lot, but I didn't finish somethings. I am almost there. I finished all but one scene and I will finished it next week. I am also going to start making buttons next week and maybe get to my action script. Next week seems a little hard, but I know we can do it or atleast I know I can. We have one scene where I am confussed about, because its when you get an answer right I don't know whether to put it after every question or not. Then I only want one to come up not both, because if you get it right the slide that says correct go on will come up. But if you get it wrong the slide will say sorry wrong try again. I'm confussed about that I hope my teacher will know how to help. Sarah and I are getting along great we always have, but when I get made I kind of yell at her. I'm trying not to though. Will get through it! This is one of are slides from are game: Soup Can!

Assembling Our Game

The last to days my partner and I have been assembling are game. Sarah and I have accomplished a lot. We just need to finish the slides then the actions, sound, and i think we are done. Personally I have accomplished how to draw in flash, to put actions and flash, and a lot of other things. As time goes on working in flash will come easier to me. Drawing in flash is one of the easiest things, but working with the action script is hard and frustrating. Are team does not have many people at all its just Sarah and me, and we split everything equally. Sometimes I do things that she doesn't know how to do, and she does things that I don't know how to do. Usually one of us are always busy. For the rest of the week we are going to try to finish the slides with all the pictures. Next week I am going to try to start working on the action script, but if i can get to that this week I will start on it. The actions seems to take longer then anything so far.

Working in Flash

For the last two weeks I have been working in flash on my game demo and adding buttons to the demo. I'm not to confiedent in flash, but I am okay at the drawing part. The demo part like where the scene should end and where the next one should start is my weakness. Its just very confusing because you need to put a keyframe in then actions and all kinds of stuff. I' m making progress on my skeleton, but it is taking time and I need help with my buttons. Not many people can figure it out. Are teacher has been gone and we have had a sub. That what is making it confussing, becasue the sub can't help only the classmates. The ones that can do have been helping, but once it came to helping me mine doesn't work I just get a bunch of errors. Its all very confussing and it is hard to stay focused, because the only thing that I want to do is quit. I can't do that though, because I don't want to give up like a lot of students. So today I'm going to have to work on my buttons today and hopefully I can get it up and running! I just got mine to work I don't know what I did, but its working. I'm not sure if it is working right, but when I click team it goes to the next scene.

Adding Sound

The importance of sound is to make the game more interesting and to let the player have more inspiration towards the game. It also make the game unique, because you don't want anyone to have the same sound. It will enhance my game by the look and thrill of the game. The sound also depends on the game, because you can't have a driving game with a cat meowing it doesn't work. You would need the sound of an engine. It heps you get a better idea of the game, and it attracts people to it. An example of a game that I played with sounds was Taxi Gone Wild, and you have to jump over cars to make it to the end and when you jump it makes a weird sound. That is an example of a sound that doesn't help the game out it makes it very annoying. It has a mute button just to stop that sound ours will have a mute button, but they won't need it or i hope not! When I put sound on my game I will make it a cool sound so it will attract people to it. In my game I might make a sound of someone eating something or burping if you lose the game, because when you lose all your pie is gone. Maybe if you when the game I can have a sound of fireworks I don't know yet. Sarah and I will have to think about the sound idea's now.

On Wednesday we had a live session with a women named Meredith. She taught me so much, but we did have a few interruptions with the connection. She taught all the class on how to make a game skeleton and how you need different layers for when you add something to the scene. I didn't know that and I did my game demo wrong the first time and I need to restart it to make it better. Then Mrs. Forinash showed use how to do it on are own. I understand it a little better, but what we did was to make key frames to change the slide when it reaches a certain spot. I had to leave early for a softball game so I didn't get to finish and start to learn how to make button so I will probably catch up on that Tuesday.

Drawing in Flash 2

I have learned alot in flash it is very hard to get everything accruate. If you mess up on thing almost everything else messes up. It makes me very mad. I will be making something small then it will become big, and its just frustrating. It can only be done on one computer so I have to do it all on my computer and it is hard to get every one to help. Sarah just reads me what I need to put on there. I have had a lot of fun. I have read other classmates blogs about there group and they seem like they are coming together.

Drawing in Flash

Yesterday and today we have been drawing in flash. It has been so much fun creating are slides for are game, but it does get frustrating when you want a text in the middle of something and you can't get it. The game is very colorful, and I really don't want to move on to the actions part, because I just no that I will want to throw my computer across the room! I really haven't looked anything up about area I'm just using my common knowledge about it. I do need to get on that though. No one from other school have posted anything on my blog, but they might? I'm being a little bit inspired by bright colors. To make my game stand out so it will drag there attention to my game!
