Our Team Page

Our team page is really good! We actually finished it, and now we just have to change the color of the font though. My job is artist and sound. All of us are getting along just fine, but sometimes I get frustrated with one of them, because the aren't helping much. I look forward to the look of the game, and how pretty it is and if we don't have that much trouble. Our inspiration of the game is a pie, because area involves pi. If you get the answer right the pie stays full, but if you get it wrong the pie is on third gone and every time you get it wrong more goes away. Once its all gone you lose! We are making good progress.

Paper Prototyping Reflection

The last couple of days I worked with my group on making a prototyping activity. We worked really hard on it I was the artist and thought of the questions. Sarah flipped the pages and pointed to things when I was video typing and saying the questions. Colton help with getting everything together and coloring. When it came time to video type Sarah and I could not stop laughing, and I don't know why it was just funny. I really liked making a paper prototype, it was fun and helped us prepare better for when it come down to the time when we make the game. We focused on area but we out some other questions in there like circumference. i didn't really like the videoing part, because i kept messing up. Besides that I love making it is a hands on activity and it gives us more time to work on the subject and are teammates.

Team Expectations

Yesterday, I got my teammates for the game! Sarah is one of my teammates and we are good friends actually this class brought us closer. Also Colton is in are group. We picked the positions that we wanted to fill in our game. I am artist and codes director, Sarah is Manager and designer, and Colton is sounds. We are called Spider Monkeys...OH yeah!! Our game idea is Area, because Sarah had a pretty good idea and it is one of the easiest. We were all in agreement to that subject so we picked it. To find resources we are all going to work together, because you will find more and three heads will be filled with the knowledge. Sarah and I are the most confident with flash. Colton still has a little bit of trouble with it. These are going to be a very interesting couple of weeks. We might get all along or we might not, but no matter what are game will come together!

Game Idea Reflection

For the last couple of days we worked in flash and talked about what we wanted to accomplish with are games. I learned so much by writing in flash! You can do so many things when your typing it is just like word, and you can change font size, font color, and font style. The most exciting part for me to start my mini game is the art work towards the game and color work. I had to type my game idea's and put it on my wiki, and it was so confusing my teacher had to help me figure it out. It only showed one sentence instead of the whole paragraph. It took awhile to figure out, but we finally got it. I'm just learning so much and gaining so much knowledge in this experience. I just got lucky i guess! My Game Idea!

Games we Play

I really don't play games on the internet, because I rather be outside. The only time I am on the computer it's, because I'm on facebook. Anyways when I was littler I did play dress up games or house decorater. These were interesting to me because you could create anything you wanted. You could have your own since of style in clothes or in a room. My mini game sort of compares to the games that I use to play, because you get to put your creative twist to the game. MiniGameSARAH

Mini-Game Project

The past couple of day we were working with flash. Oh my it was so hard and confusing when we started. I was lost a few times, but i finally got the hang of it yesterday. We made a layer for the carrot then a layer for the bunny and a layer for the actions. The action layer is were you had to put all these codes to make everything move and do things. One time I wasn't in the actions layer and I was in the bunny layer, and I put a code in that layer and got a bunch of errors when I tested my video. I was so confused and get frustrated and just wanted to give up and leave, but then after everything was going right I really enjoyed it. I cant wait to start up another one and maybe I wont be so confused and frustrated!

Flash Intoduction

I read the into to flash, and it seemed very fun. It was kind of like paint but you had layers to when your done you can combine all the layers to make a picture. By the way the comments were going it seemed like it was going to be very difficult. They explained the things that are on the timeline. I think the hard part will be the the drawing, because its really hard to draw with a mouse instead of a pencil. The neat thing was that there was a picture with a man and a wall, and the first picture he was in front of the wall and the next one he was behind it. I think that would be interesting to play around with. I can't wait to start the flash, and building my game one layer at a time!

Blogs I Follow

I choose three blogs that I want to keep in touch with, because I think they will help me with my concept. The are called Lets Play Math, Mathrecreation, and Home of speed math and Smart math. These sites will help me think critically, because they will give me math ideas. Also, they have important math concepts on there. These are better then others, because they are rated high and they are easy to understand. I think these will make it easier for me and I get other opinions on my game. I haven't had much conversation about my game idea's, but i will soon. I'll ask around what they think.

Social Issue Review

Yesterday, in Globaloria we were choosing a topic for are game. I answered questions about are community. We focused on subjects like environment, health, poverty, education, and civic participation. They asked us questions on how some of this stuff effects are community and earth. I played a game called Dafur is Dying the genre was life simulation. This city's well was empty and you had to get them water but you couldn't be caught or else the city would die and you would be sent away to a camp. I think it is talking about environment, poverty, and health. Answering questions about my community wanted me to focus on some pacific subjects like education and environment. We have a good education in are state but not out of the whole country and we are trying to change, especially with taking this class. Also are environment looks clean, but we don't see the parts like landfills and things that are ruining are environment!
